International Picnic on Sundays -
a place where locals and travelers meet -
it's free and self organized.
We started in Omsk in June 2019 -
and now we're in Saint Petersburg as well!
Our dream is to spread across cities in Russia and beyond.
The idea is simple:
every Sunday at 2 pm we meet at an easy to find spot
and walk chatting in small groups along beautiful city paths
to a park or beach if the sun is on our side
or to a cafe or museum or another place with a roof
if the weather is harsh.
At the place, we spread our blankets
or find where to land,
uncover the food and drinks we brought
and share them along a cozy conversation
and possibly some games
like Mafia or Crocodile or Just a Minute.
We do focus on speaking English
so that our foreign guests don't feel left out -
but you're welcome if you don't speak it yet as well -
being interested is more than enough.
So usually we end up with a mix of languages.
